"Mrs. George J. Ellis, Sr. Mrs. Mattie M. Ellis, age 66, died. Wife of Geo. J. 
Ellis and daughter of James A and Sally Barkley Mitchell. Was born April 5, 1873 in Bowling Green. Father 
a member of pioneer family. Married June 14, 1893 Geo J. 
Ellis. Lived Glasgow 45 years. Member of O.E.S. & D.A.R. Sons: Mitchell & Geo J. 
Ellis, Jr. Sister: L. C. Bannon of Greenville, Miss. Brothers: J B Mitchell of Banning, Calif; R. S. Mitchell of 
St. Louis; S. B. Mitchell of Atlanta. Interred in Glasgow Cemetery."
