He died at 2pm Saturday. He lived at 1220 W.3rd St. He was born December 10, 1864 in Ohio County, Ky, but for the last 39 years, he had lived in Owensboro. He was a member of the Sugar Grove Baptist Church in Ohio County. He is survived by two sons, Vernon Evans of Rockport, Ind. and Johnie Evans of Lake Hughes, Calif; three daughters, Mrs Frate (Gora) Austin, Mrs Clema E. Truman, both of Owensboro, and Mrs. Minnine Cline of Reynolds Station; a brother, John Evans of Owensboro; a sister, Mrs. Frances Adams of Indianapolis, Ind.; 23 grandchildren; 50 great-grand-children. Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home will have the services at 2pm on Tuesday. Rev. John Dunaway, pastor of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church will lead the service assisted by the Rev. Lester Nash of Evansville.
