Sister Everitt professed faith in Christ and united with the Mt. Tabor Baptist church in 1865. In 1882 she transferred her membership to South Fork church where she remained until her death. Sister Everitt sustained the character of an earnest Christian in its fullest sense throughout her entire life, and was a devoted wife and loving mother to the end. Her neighbors and friends who knew her from childhood are witnesses to her many traits of Christian character and bear testimony to her worth as a friend and neighbor. "She leaves to mourn her departure a devoted husband, and two daughters, Miss Lena Everitt and Mrs. W. D. Beals, who have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their bereavement. "Funeral services were conducted by Rev. H J. W. Loving, and the remains were laid to rest in the family graveyard near the homestead to await the summons of the Master on the resurrection morning.
