Sterling Advocate - June 6, 1962 John Benton Fields Dies Last Saturday John Benton Fields, 82, retired farmer, died at 1:20 p.m. Sunday at his home near Jeffersonville following a brief illness. A native of Breathitt County, he was a member of the Old Salem Holiness Church and had many friends throughout this section. He is survived by two daughters Mrs. Willie Smith and Mrs. Wes McGuire, both of Jeffersonville; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Pearl Miller, Georgetown, Ohio; a son, Mose Fields, Denniston, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the Botts Church in Menifee County by the Rev. Frank McGuire. Buril was in the Helton Cemetery in Menifee County.
