                         VIRGIE FIELDS
Virgie Baker Fields, 89, of McVeigh, died Friday, October 26, at the South
Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.
     She was born in Grundy, VA., on December 21, 1894, a daughter of the
late Bud and Phoebe Daniel Estep.
     She was preceded in death by her first husband, Mitchell Baker, her
second husband, Thomps Fields, two sons, one daughter, one brother and 
four sisters.
     She is survived by one son, Willard Baker of McVeigh, three daughters,
Alma Nelson, Ruby Hurley, both of McVeigh, Hazel Davis of Ashville NC; 24 
grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.
     Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, in the
Jamboree Church of God with O.A. Stump, Everett Hisle and James Mosley 
officiating. Burial followed in the Buddy Hatfield Cemetery at Jamboree. 
Arrangements were under direction of Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry.
