It is my will as desire that after my decease my funeral expenses and just debts shall be paid. 2nd Item. It is my will and desire that my beloved wife Elizabeth shall have and enjoy during her widowhood and natural life the plantation on which I now reside together with all the appurtenances with my household and kitchen furniture and farming utensils together with all my stock or so much of each as she may wish to retain the balance if any to be sold. I also give or lend to my beloved wife Elizabeth during her widowhood or natural life four negroes viz. Fanny, Ally, Biddy and Cezour. 3rd Item. I give to my son Edmond Finch in addition to what I have already advanced to him an equal share (or one fourth part) with my other three sons of the residue of my estate at the death of my beloved wife. 4th Item. I give to my son John Finch in addition to what I have already advanced him the tract of land on which he now resides including two parcels purchased of Wm. Pulliam and one of ______ Wm. Steele containing in whole sixty eight and one half acres or thereabouts on this express condition that he shall pay to my son Ludwell R. Finch fifty dollars yearly for and during one term of ten years. 5th Item. I give to my son Ludwell R. Finch my tract of land on Buckrun known by the Endicott place containing fifty acres more or less, also one negro boy named Charles. 6th Item. I give to my son William Finch at the death of his mother my beloved wife the farm on which I now reside containing about one hundred and five acres, also one negro man named Meril. 7th item. I give to my daughter Elizabeth Beasley in addition to what I have already given her, one negro girl named Jinney. 8th Item. I give to my daughter one horse, saddle, and bridle to the value of one hundred dollars, one good Bed Stead and furniture, one Bureau Cubbard, dining table, and half dozen of fancy chairs all of good quality, two good cows and calves, also one negro woman named Rose, one small girl named Martha and one negro boy named Henry. 9th Item. It is my wish and desire that during the lifetime and widowhood of my beloved wife that she may at her discretion give to each or either of my daughters Elizabeth and Nancy any portion of the stock raised on the farm or of the net profits of the Estate life in her hands. 10th Item. It is my will and desire that at the death of my beloved wife that all the residue of my estate not devised shall be sold and equally divided between my sons said Ement, John, Luddwell, and William. 11th Item. And lastly I do hereby appoint my beloved wife, Elizabeth Finch and my son Luddwell R. Finch executors to carry this my will into effect hereby revoking all others. The foregoing instrument purporting to be the last will and Testament of William Finch dec’d. was produced in Court and proven by the oaths of Jesse Moss and Willis Field, two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to record. Whereupon Elizabeth Finch and Ludwell R. Finch, the executrux and executor herein named came into Court and took the oath required by law and together with William Finch and William Woldridge their securities executed and acknowledges Bond in the sum of Ten Thousand dollars considered according to law.
