Name: Carroll Morris Redford, Jr. Residence: Glasgow KY Died: Saturday, 29 Nov 2003, Glasgow, age 69. Born: Glasgow KY in 1934 Son of the late Carroll and Florence Redford Graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1956 where he received a B.A. degree, and received a J.D. degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1959. Appointed as law clerk to the Kentucky Court of Appeals, Kentucky's highest court at that time, and served from 1959 to 1960. Following this service he returned in 1960 to Glasgow to enter the private practice of law with his father, Carroll M. Redford, at Redford Law Office. Elected and served as Judge, Glasgow Police Court 1961 to 1965; Barren County attorney 1965 to 1978; Commonwealth's Attorney, 43rd Judicial Circuit (Barren and Metcalfe Counties), 1979 to 1993; appointed Circuit Judge, 43rd Judicial Circuit in 1993. Returned then to private practice at Redford Law Office, where he continued to practice law until his death. Member American Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, Barren County Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), Kentucky Academy of Trial Attorneys (KATA), Nation! al Distraict Attorney's Association and under two Kentucky governors was appointed and served on the Kentucky Prosecutors Advisory Council (PAC), the agency that supervises the unified prosecutorial system in Kentucky. 1989 Recipient of the President's Award, Kentucky Commonwealth's Attorney's Association, and in 1990 was awarded the Carroll M. Redford Kentucky Outstanding Prosecutor by the Kentucky Commonwealth's Attorney's Association, the award named in honor of his late father, also a prosecutor for many years. Past President of Jr. Achievement of Glasgow, member Board of Directors of the Glasgow Rotary Club, a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow, a member and president of the University of Kentucky College of Law Alumni Board of Directors, past president of the Kentucky Bar Foundation, the charitable division of the Kentucky Bar Association. Active in organizing the Glasgow/Barren County Chamber of Commerce Law and Justice Day program for the Leadership Glasgow/Barren County classes. First Chairman of the 18-county Barren River Area Health Planning Council, also served as District Chairman and Finance Chairman for the Mammoth Cave District Boy Scouts of America. Very active member of the First Christian Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher for 35 years, and for many years taught the class known as "Lost and Found." Had also previously served in the church in many voluntary capacities, including Deacon, Elder and Chairman of the Church Board. At the time of his death, he was serving as Church Trustee and was previously Chairman of the Trustees. Preceded in death by his parents: Carroll Morris Redford and Florence Smither Redford.
