Ford, 21, Meets Death When Train Hits Auto; Friends Injured W. L. Ford, 21, 1212 C street, was instantly killed early Sunday morning when an automobile in which he was riding was struck by a locomotive near Detroit, Mich. Two companions, Russell Thomas, 21, Detroit, and John Brior, 24, Eastor, Penn., are in a critical condition as a result of the accident. Detroit police reported Thomas, who was driving, said rain obscured the warning light at the crossing. Ford's mother was reported to be near collapse from shock here. Ford was graduated from Tilghman high school this year. He was member of the Von Baron Ironclad fraternity, whose members will attend the funeral services in a body. The body will arrive in Paducah Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. and will be taken to the Lindsey funeral home. Later it will be removed to the home of Ford's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Ford at 1912 C street. Besides his parents, the youth is survived by a sister, Emma Sue; his grandfather, W. L. Ford of Kansas; three uncles and five aunts.
