Barbery (Barbara) Fults - Frederick Fraley September 25, 1838 Carter County KyArchives Marriage

Carter Co., KY loose marriage bonds; Sept. 25, 1838 Know all men by these presents that we Fredrick Fraley and Morgan Fults are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the just and full sum of fifty pounds to which payment well and truely to be made to the said Commonwealth we bind our selves our heirs Executors & administrators jointly severely and firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 25th day of Sept. 1838.

The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas a marriage is about to be solemnized between the above bound Fredrick Fraley and Barbery Fults of Carter County.  Now if there be no lawfull cause to obstruct the same then this obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

I found this original marriage bond on a microfilm entitled Carter Co., KY Marriage Records; Loose papers  1838-1866.  I spelled everything in the text as it was spelled on the handwritten original.
