"Mrs. Mary Franklin died at the residence on East Main Street, early Thursday morning, at the age of 65 years. She was the widow of the late Mr. Sam Franklin, who died a few months ago. She has been ill for five months, and for a few weeks, has been hovering between life and death. She is survived by two sons and five daughters, Messrs. Clay and Sam Franklin of this place, Mrs. Howard Hayes of Gamaliel, Mrs. A. F. Harlin of Greensboro, N.C., Mrs. H. T. Pedigo of Glasgow, Mrs. G. A. Fogleman of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Margurite Evans of Bowling Green. "Before marriage she was Miss Mary Barr, and was born and reared in the Fountain Run seciton, an spent her entire life in Monroe and Barren counties. "The following brother and sisters survive: Mr. Paul Barr of Memphis, Tenn., Mrs. Maggie Evans of Tompkinsville, Mrs. Ed. Grooms of Bowling Green, Mrs. J. W. Austin of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Boyd Daniels of Scottsboro, Ala., and Mrs. Will Marquitte of Chattanooga, Tenn. "Mrs. Franklin was a member of the Baptist Church and a devout member, and was one of the best of ladies, true to her family, her friends, her church and her God. "The interment was in the Glasgow cemetery Friday afternoon, after funeral services at the Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. J. A. Gaines of the Baptist Church, assisted by Eld. T. H.
