Deed Bk C, p 65 CALDWELL; GAITHER This Indenture made this twenty Sixth day of July in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and four Between William CALDWELL and Betsey his wife of the County of Adair of the one part and Edward B. GAITHER of the County of Washington and Town of Springfield of the other part. Witnesseth that the said William CALDWELL & Betsey his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred & thirty five pounds Current money of Kentucky to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge have granted Bargained & Sold and by these presents do Grant bargain Sell alien & convey unto the said Edward B. GAITHER his heirs and assigns forever a certain lott or parcel of Ground in the Town of Springfield in the said County of Washington called & known in the Plan of the said Town by lott No. 31 together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him the Said Edward J. GAITHER his heirs and assigns forever and the said William CALDWELL & Betsey his wife do for them Selbes their heirs __ do further covenant and agree to and with the said Edward B. GAITHER & his heirs so that they will forever Warrant and defend the said Lott and its appurtenances unto the said Edward B. GAITHER his heirs and assigns forever from & against the claim of the said William CALDWELL and wife and their heirs and from and against the claim of all and every other person or persons Whatsoever. In Witness whereof the said William CALDWELL and Betsy his wife have hereunto Set their hands and affixed their Seals the day & Year above Written.
