Glasgow (KY) Daily Times, 13 May 1896
"Mrs. America Garman, wife of James Garman, deceased, departed this life April 
the 19th, 1896, age 83 years old. She lived a true Christian. She leaves six 
children, five girls and one boy and a number of grandchildren and great 
grandchildren. Her funeral was preached by Rev. John Loyd and after services 
she was buried in the cemetery at Harvey Davis' beside her husband. During her 
sickness she was faithfully cared for. Everything was done for her that human 
heart could wish for by her children and friends."
