"MRS. GEE DEAD. Mrs. Mollie Gee, wife of Mr. L. W. Gee, died at the home of her husband on Green Street, Tuesday morning after a lingering and severe illness, which was caused by a tumor on her brain. For several weeks she had been in a very low state and her death was not unexpected. Most of the time for the past week she had been unconscious and her death came as a relief to her immense suffering. "Mr. and Mrs. Gee came to Barren county from Metcalfe county several years ago and have since resided here. Before her marriage, she was miss Mollie Lane, of Summer Shade. She was a woman of many excellent and noble traits and her life was a strong ___ of an exemplary Christian wife and a good woman. For years she had been an ardent member of the Methodist church and was a consecrated active member of that denomination ____ (unreadable). No children were ever born to Mr. and Mrs. Gee but they had an adopted daughter, Mrs. Jack Witty, of this place, who with Mr. Gee survived the wife and motherly woman. "The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. D. Leitchfield at the Methodist church yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, after which the remains were interred in the cemetery at this place."
