Gibson, 89, a life long resident of Bell County passed away on June 17, 2003 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born on June 13, 1914 in Tinsley a son of the late Mary L. Gibson North and Murphy Gibson. He was a member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church and had been a coal miner for 40 years. He belonged to the 3 C’s and the United Mime Workers of America. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Janie Fuson, brothers, A.Y. North and Bill Lee North, son-in-law, Earl Stewart and grandson, Dwight Stewart. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Addie Goodin Gibson, children, Rosa Stewart of Barbourville, Dessie and Cotton Centers of Ingram, Annabelle and Ewel Myers of Pineville, Clyde and Diane Gibson of Trenton, OH and Caffie and Thomas Goodin of Pineville, grandchildren, Tresa Chestnut, Tammie Reed, Pam Sutton, Scott Myers, Zachery and Jacob Gibson and Nicole Golden, ten great- grandchildren, sister, Della Partin, Pineville, brother, Joe North of Pineville, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services were Friday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev.. Keith Bays and Rev. Terry Cox. Music will be by Mark Hunter. Burial was in the Barbourville Cemetery, Barbourville. Pallbearers will be Scott Myers, Brandon Collins, Justin Stewart, Derek Stewart, Kelly Chestnut, Mark Sutton, Keith Reed and Alvie Fuson. Honorary pallbearers were his sons-in-law, Cotton Centers, Thomas Golden, Ewel Myers and Daughter-n-law, Diane Gibson. Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville, was honored to serve the Gibson Family.
