Glover.Alexander.1820.Unknown.BIOS ALEXANDER C. GLOVER was born in Shawswick Township, Lawrence County, Indiana, January 13, 1820, third of ten children born to WARE and HETTA (REDUS) GLOVER, natives respectively of Kentucky and Virginia, he coming to this State in the fall of 1810, and she in 1813. Alexander received a limited education in the common schools, his father having died when he was only thirteen years of age, and remained at home with his mother till he was twenty-six years of age, taking charge during that time of the farm and hs younger brothers and sister. October 21, 1845, he married ANN ELIZA CARTER, who died about one year after marriage. April 18, 1848, he married RACHAEL E. GLENN, and to this union have been born ten children four of whom are living: SAMUEL W., who married SOPHIA STEINHAGEN; JAMES W., whose wife was ELIZA OWEN; ALPHEUS and MARY. Subject formerly followed blacksmithing but his occupation now is farming, owning 160 acres of land. Mr. and Mrs. Glover are members of the Presbyterian Church, and he is a Mason and a Republican.
