Roy Parker Godsey, 69, died suddenly at his home in Pine Knot, Ky., on 
September 26, 1977. His wife, Hettie Flynn Godsey, survives.  He was born May 
8, 1908, in Wayne County, Ky., the son of the late Rev. George Godsey and 
Vinie Owens Godsey. He was married December 3, 1927, in Huntsville, Tenn., to 
Hettie Flynn. He was a life-time resident of McCreary County and a retired 
lumberman. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.  Survivors, besides 
his wife, include three children, Wayne Godsey, Cincinnati, Ohio, Ray Godsey, 
California and Glenn Godsey. Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren; one brother, Hartman Godsey, California and two sisters, Mrs. 
Allie Hughes, Indiana and Mrs. Delta Stewart, Arizona.  Funeral services were 
held Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m. in the Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. 
Phillip Ball officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery.  West and Son 
Funeral Home of Pine Knot was in charge of the arrangements.
