Gosser.D.1909.Woodford.OBIT DEATH OF D.GOSSER - Born August 4,1833 - Died November 25, 1909 He Had Been Ill Since February - Native of Germany. Domini gosser, aged 76, a well known citizen of the county, died at half past 5 o'clock last Thursday afternoon at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Henderson A. Owen, near Mortonsville. He was taken ill last February while in Florida, where he had been spending his winters, and after his return home was never able to leave his room. Mr. Gosser was born in Konstanz, Baden, Germany. He came to the United States and settled in Woodford Co. when he was 21 years of age. He was a farmer and a successful one - an honest, law abiding, industrious man, of Christian character. The community sustains a loss in his death. For 42 years Mr. Gosser had been a member of the Mortonsville Christian church. He is survived by eight children, three daughters and five sons, viz: Mrs. Lucy Rowland, of Richmond; Mrs. George Owen, Mrs. Henderson Owen and Messrs. Hammond, Joseph, Lewis, John and Henry Gosser, all of this county. His wife died thirteen years ago. Funeral services were held at the Owen residence Saturday at 11 a.m. by Rev.R.J.Bamber. The interment took place in the cemetery in Versilles. (Domini's wife was Eliza A. Strange Freeman Gosser, b.
