GOUGH of the County of Spencer and State of Kentucky have received from my brother in Law RAPHAEL HEARD an instrument of writing for a certain Negro Girl ANN named in said writing which negro was warranted to my wife ELIZABETH GOUGH during her natural life and at her death to descend with her issue to my Daughter LOUISA GOUGH and her heirs forever and doubts having arisen whether I have any title to said Slave as my name is mentioned in teh writing Know ye therefore that the said JOHN B. GOUGH do hereby relinquish all and every title or claim which I now have or ever had heretofore in and to said negro Girl ANN by virtue or in consideration of the said writing from RAPHAEL HEARD to me to my said daughter LOUISA GOUGH and her heirs forever...
