GREENWAY, is the son of William and Melinda Greenway, who were natives of Kentucky and Tennessee, and born in 1816 and 1819. They are the parents of three living children: Agnes E., Jennie and Obadiah. The subject of our sketch was born in Dubois County, Ind., January 7, 1843. He obtained a fair education in the common schools of Dubois County, and when twenty-three years old, he married Sarah J. Marshall, of Warrick Co. Their union was blessed with seven children--two sons and five daughters: William T. (deceased), Charles E. (deceased), Carrie J. (deceased), Melinda I., Nancy E. and Mary M. He is a Democrat and a member of the I.O.O.F., of Selvin, Warrick Co., Ind. While he was a resident of Dubois County, he served two terms as assessor of Patoka Township, and in 1884, was elected to the office of trustee of Lockhart Township, which office he holds at the present time. Previous to the election of trustee, he had been engaged in the hardware business in Stendal, where he was very successful financially.
