From: KyArchives [Archives@genrecords.org] Sent: Monday, February 06, 2006 4:28 PM To: Ky-Footsteps Subject: Willis.Joseph-Grigsby.Nathaniel.1804.Washington.DEED Joseph Willis - Nathaniel Grigsby February 27, 1804 Washington County KyArchives Deed Beach Fork Written: February 27, 1804 Recorded: March 5, 1804 Washington County KY Deed Bk C, p 51, 52 Grigsby; Willis; Powel; Reed Deed Nathaniel Grigsby to Joseph Willis This Indenture made this 27th day of February 1804 Between Nathaniel Grigsby of the County of Nelson and State of Kentucky of the one part and Joseph Willis of the County of Mercer and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth whereof the said Nathaniel Grigsby hath Given Granted and conveyed and by these presents doth Give grant and convey a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in Washington County on the waters of the beach fork and bound as follows (To wit) beginning at the southwest corner of the said Grigsby 1000 acre Survey at a buckyeye and two Sugartrees running South Seventy degrees East four hundred poles to a beach Sugartree and Ash trees thence South twenty degrees East four hundre poles crossing a large branch to an Elm and Two Sugartrees thence north seventy degrees west four hundred poles to the beginning containing by estimation 1000 acres more or less, also 500 acres lying on Glens creed and bounded as followeth (twit) beginning about one hundred poles above where Powels trace crosses said creek at two Sugartrees and an Elm tree thence South Sixty degrees west two hundred poles to two Sugartrees and white walnut trees thence South thirty degrees east 400 poles to a poplar ash and sugartrees north Sixty degrees east two hundred poles crossing the creek to a poplar walnut and Sugartrees thence north thirty degrees west 400 poles crossing said Creek to the beginning To have and to hold the said two tracts or parcel of land and premises with every priviledge & appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him the said Joseph Willis his heirs Exors. Admrs. And the said Nathaniel Grigsby doth covenant and Agree to warrant and forever defend the said title of the said tracts or parcels of land and premises from him the said Nath. Grigsby his heirs Executors Admrs. And assigns in witness whereof the said Grigsby hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his Seal this day and date above written. Nath.
