OBIT: Grogan, Lula (Houchin), 1998 - Edmonson Co TIMES MAIL BEDFORD, INDIANA Lula M. Grogan Oct. 20, 1909-Jan. 25, 1998 MITCHELL -- Lula M. Grogan, 88, Mitchell, died at 9:23 p.m. Sunday at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehab Center. Born in Brownsville, Ky., she was the daughter of Andrew and Ruby (Roof) Houchin. She married Marvin W. Grogan Jan. 27, 1945, and he died Nov. 3, 1945. She was a homemaker and charter member of Woodville Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Louise "Toots" VanMeter of Mitchell; two brothers: Max Houchin and Earl Houchin, both of Indianapolis; three sisters: Maxine Taflinger of Mitchell, Wanda Stigall and Corrine "Dutch" Sanders, both of Bloomington; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one great-great-grandchild. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Chastain Funeral Home, Mitchell, with the Rev. Glenn Hamer officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the service Thursday.
