Grubbs.Hazel.Swanner.1981.Bell.OBIT Hazel Swanner Grubbs August 4, 1981 Bell County KyArchives Obituaries Pineville Sun - Bell County, Kentucky - August 1981 HAZEL GRUBBS Mrs. Hazel Grubbs, age 61, of Straight Creek, Kentucky, died at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Tuesday, August 4th, after a short illness. Mrs. Grubbs was born May 20, 1920, the daughter of the late Tom and Polly Philpot Swanner. She had been a resident of Bell County all her life and was a member of the White Mountain Pentacostal Church. Her husband, Anthony Grubbs, preceded her in death in 1978. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Ann Grubbs Reaser of Lorraine, Ohio; one son, Jimmy Lee Grubbs of Straight Creek; three sisters, Dorothy Smith of Harlan, Kentucky, Thelma Charles of Pineville, Kentucky and Lula Charles of Muncie, Indiana; two brothers, Milford Swanner of Harlan, Kentucky and Otis Swanner of Connersville, Indiana; three grandchildren, Stephen and Dennis Reaser of Lorraine, Ohio and Rosa Grubbs of Straight Creek, Kentucky. Funeral services were held Friday, August 7, at 2:00 PM, at the Arnett Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. James Lowe officiating. Burial was in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Middlesboro, Kentucky, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Arnett Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
