Rites Held For John Guess, 83
	John G Guess, 83, Madisonville route 2, died at 9 pm Thursday 
in his home.
	For many years he had been a member of Carter Chapel Church 
in Hopkins county.  He was a native of Crittenden county.
	Surviving are the wife, Mrs Mary E Guess; two sons, Allie Guess, 
Cincinnati, Ohio; and Ray Guess, Norwood, Pa.; a daughter Mrs Alberta 
Padgett, Fort Worth, Texas and two sisters, Mrs George J Travis and 
Mrs Lillie Ramage, both of Marion, Ky.
	Funeral services were conducted on Saturday at Oakley Home 
church with the Rev. Thomas Wilson officiating, assisted by the Rev. 
A R Poole.  Burial was in the church cemetery.
	The body was at Harris Funeral Home, 134 North Main, until the 
last rites.
	Pallbearers were Arthur Cates, Ruby Cates, Raymond Carter, 
Jewell Carter, Wilbur Travis and Glendell Travis.
