Born Nov. 19, 1919, in Joliet, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Milo and Adele Hurley. She was a retired dietitian from Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. Active in the Faith Lutheran Church and Joliet Area Community Hospice, she was former president of the Daughters of the American Revolution and League of Women Voters. She was the widow of Ralph Guffey. Survivors include three sons, Michael Guffey and Robert Guffey, both of Joliet, and Patrick Guffey of Crest Hill; a brother, Dale Hurley of San Marino, Calif. and eight grandchildren. Services will be 9 a.m. Thursday at Bellevue Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Joliet Area Community Hospice or to the American Diabetes Association. Stith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
