OBIT: Arnold Hall, 2003, Casey Co. & IN From the Danville Advocate Messenger, 18 April 2003 LIBERTY -- Arnold George Hall, 77, of Charlestown, Ind., formerly of Liberty, died Tuesday in Charlestown. Born Oct. 10, 1925, in Casey County, he was the son of the late George M. and Annie Pearl Lynn Hall. He was a retired chemical operator at Dupont Corp. in Louisville and a 51-year volunteer firefighter with the Charlestown Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1427, American Legion 535 and Athens Church of Christ. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Deva Katherine Spaw Hall; two sons, Carl and Gerald Hall, both of Charlestown; two daughters, Rita Mauk and Patricia Harbin, both of Charlestown; two brothers, James Hall of Jeffersonville, Ind., and Sterling Smithers of Hustonville; five sisters, Jeanette Jeffries of Moreland and Geneva Price, Edna Allen, Alta Whited and Jenny Bernard, all of Liberty; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Hall. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by James McDonald. Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery with military rites by Casey County Funeral Squad. Visitation is after 4 p.m. today.
