This photo of Mary Ann was taken in Leonardville, Kansas about 1880.  James Lynch Sr. and Mary Ann moved with their children, to Kansas, on Christmas Day in 1870.  My grandmother Elsie Lynch Stockham had many early photos and items from the family of Mary Ann Hamilton and her two husbands.  My great, grandfather James G. Lynch Jr., Elsie's father, kept many photos in a large covered box, where they have survived well.

Additional Comments:
Mary Ann Hamilton was born in 1834 to Reuben Hamilton and Sarah Ferguson.  She was orphaned at a young age, and resided with her grandfather Richard Ferguson in 1850 in Bullitt Co.  Family notes say that she was raised in Shepherdsville with her grandparents, and brother Richard F. Hamilton.

In 1855, Mary Ann married David Nelson Quick, born 1829, son of Ephraim and Mary Quick of Bullitt County.  David Nelson Quick died during his service in the Civil War.  Mary Ann married second, to James Gilbert Lynch, in 1865 in Clark Co. Indiana.
