State of Kentucky, County of Carter, SS: On this the 1 day of January A.D., one thousand eight hundred and 94 personally appeared before me a Justus of the Pic in and within and for the county and State aforesaid, Thomas B. Harrison, aged 58 years, who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical Thomas B. Harrison who was ENROLLED as a privit on the 18 day of August 1862 in Company C of the 66 Regiment of Ind. Inf. commanded by phylicks C. Bivens and was honorably DISCHARGED at Corinth, Miss. on the 8 day of April 1863, that his personal description is as follows: Age 58 years; height 5 feet 10 inches; complexion Light; hair Light; eyes Blue. That while a member of the organization aforesaid, in the service and in the line of duty, at Corinth, Miss. on or about the February 1863, he contracted rheumatism caused by exposure while in the Line of duty. That he was treated in hospitals as follows: Corinth, Miss. That he has not been employed in the military or naval service otherwise than as stated above. That he has not been in the military or naval service of the United States since about 8 day of April 1863. Bivins Company (E) of the Sixty Sixth Regiment of United States Vol Infty was enlisted by Lieut S.B.A. Conder of the Sixty Sixth Regiment of Indiana Vols at Orleans Indiana on the Sixteenth day ofAugust 1862, to serve Three years; he was born in the State of Indiana is Twenty Seven years of aage Six feet inches hight, Red complexion, Blue eyes, Light hair and by occupation when enlisted a Farmer During the last two months said soldier has been unfit for duty 59 days. The said Thomas B. Harrison has been sick of Rheumatism and various Kindred Complaints ever since he entered the service he has been of no earthly use to the army and is a nuisance. Bivins Company, and find him incapable of performing the duties of a soldier because of anasorea of the left leg. He has been afflicted with Sciatic Rheumatism since Aug. 31st 1862. When put on duty he has persisted in his declaration of inability until he has become a dead letter in the army. He is unfit for a Soldier--isa nuisance and will never do any good in the army. Department of the Interior Bureau of Pensions Thomas B. Harrison E 66 Ind Inf Washington, D.C. Jany 29, 1892 Sir: It is alleged that Thomas B. Harrison enlisted August 12, 1862 and served in Co. E, 66 Regt Ind. Inf and was discharged at Corinth, Miss. April 8, 1862. It is also alleged that while on duty at Corinth, Miss. on or about February , 1862, he was disabled by rheumatism. In case of the aove named soldier the War Department is requested to furnish an official statement of the enrollment, discharges, and record of service so far as the same may be applicable to the foregoing allegation together with full medical history. Please give the rank he held at the time he is claimed to have incurred the disability alleged, and if records show that he was not in line of duty during that period, let the fact be stated.
