Race street Thursday afternoon after an illness of two and one-half weeks. "Mrs. Harvey was eighty-two years of age, having been born in Summer Shade on March 18, 1859, the daughter of Dr. Lindsay and Parthenia Watson. She was married on March 8, 1877, to Mr. Jas. Bryson Harvey, formerly State Representative for Barren county, who passed away in Sept., 1939. "Mrs. Harvey had many friends in Barren, Cumberland and Metcalfe counties, having lived in all three counties. Kind and considerate and genuinely concerned for the welfare of all who came within the circles of her friendly personality, she is mourned as a true Christian, and [sic] ideal mother and neighbor. She had been a faithful member of the Methodist church since the age of fourteen. "With exception of her daughter, Mrs. R. B. Grider, she is the last survivor of this splendid family in this immediate community. Her other daughter, Mrs. Charles Shannon, preceded her to the grave three weeks before. Two grandchildren, Mrs. Addis Britt, Lancaster, Ky., and Mr. Russell Harvey, of Elkton, survive. "Funeral rites were conducted at the Methodist church Friday afternoon at four o'clock, Rev. R. W. Raaf and Rev. W. E. Thomas in charge. Burial was in the Glasgow cemetery."
