Hastie, retired school teacher, died Friday at her home in Bowling Green after a long illness. Miss Hastie taught for 45 years at the Bowling Green High School and for 15 years at Community College of Western Kentucky University. A native of Mt. Sterling, she recevied her M.A. degree from the University of Kentucky and did post graduate work at the University of Colorado. She was a member of Phi Alpha Theta, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Association of University Women. Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. C.A. Loudermilk, Bowling Green; Mrs. F.J. McKinley, Tampa, Fla.; Mrs. Newton Oakes, Dahlonega, GA., and Mrs. Gayle Browne, Richmond; two brothers, F. H. Hastie, Harlan and Charles Hastie, Lexington. services were conducted by Dr. Frank Tinder at 10 a.m. Monday at the Eastin-Richey Funeral Home. Burial was in Machpelah Cemetery . Nephews were bearers.
