OBIT: Hatfield, Harlan "Pap", 2004, MI & Floyd Co This is an obit from the Ann Arbor News for a Floyd County native...Thanks, Rodney Belcher Hatfield, Harlan Pap Ypsilanti Twp., MI Age 73, died Monday, January 5, 2004, at his residence. He was born on December 19th, 1930 in Bevinsville, Kentucky, the son of John Henry and Mallie (Mullins) Hatfield. Pap was married Phyllis Jean Likens on December 22th, 1950 in Prestonburg, Kentucky, and she survives. Pap was employed with Ford Motor Co., Wixon Plant, retiring in 1983. He was baptized in September of 1963. Pap enjoyed working in his yard and garden, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his love of playing cards and listening to the Cleveland Indians baseball on the radio. Survivors besides his wife include four children: Jerry (Marge) Hatfield, Debbie (Terry) Reatherford, Diane (Jeff) Happel, Doug (Bobbie) Hatfield; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim (Sally) Hatfield; three sisters: Lottie (Junior) Murphree, Jackie (Curt) Mead ows, Sue (Dalton) Murphree. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Delores Hatfield; a sister, Rose Johnson; three brothers, Johnny Hatfield, Joe Hatfield and Charlie Hatfield; and his friend and card partner, Bob Orbin. Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 8, 2004 at 12 Noon at the Ypsilanti Old Regular Baptist Church, 5668 Denton Rd., Canton with Elder Gene Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Ypsilanti. Contribu tions in Pap's memory may be made to the St. Joseph Mercy Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the JANOWIAK FUNERAL HOME, Geer-Logan Chapel where the family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-9 p.m. and at the Church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
