C. M. HATTER GOES ON TO HIS REWARD
The many friends of Claude Hatter were saddened Saturday when they heard of his death that afternoon, at about five o'clock, at his home in Yosemite.  
While he had been sick 2 or 3 days the family did not think of his being seriously ill and his death was quite unexpected.  For 25 years he as a rural mail carrier here and had a wide circle of aquaintances and friends over his route.  Prior to that period of his life he had a position with a Lexington firm, and was widely known and liked.In his youth he attended Transylvania University , Lexington, and was a teacher in Casey County.  He had a keen interet in sports, playing baseball and his son Clyde Hatter was a noted baseball pitcher.  He was a member of the Mason Order. In his youth he accepted th Lord Jesus Christ as his savior, was baptized and was an active member of the Green River Christian Church at the time of his death.He was a good bible student, enjoyed teaching the Young Ladies class over a long period of years.  For several years he has  been Superintendent and Asst. 
Superintendent of Green River sunday school.  He was the son of the late Hardin W. Hatter and Vell (Dockery) Hatter.  He was married first to Tressie Lay, after her death he married Mrs. Daisy Estes who survives him after 20 years of marriage.  There were three children by his first marriage, Cecil, Clyde and Florence. Clyde died in the fall of 1936 (too dark), the other two, Mrs. Homer Vaught of Bethelridge and Mr Cecil Hatter of Lexington and Cecils' 
two little sons are left. Other survivors are a sister, Mrs. George Garner of Liberty, three brothers, Roscoe Hatter of Poplar Hill,Willie Hatter of Yosemite and Coleman Hatter of Gilpin. Also numerous nieces and nephews.His stepdaughter, stepsons and their children wre given his deep affection and the ties were very close.  His long time friend W.G. Montgomery of Lexington was called to preach his funeral on Monday at Green River church, and his body was laid to rest in the Middleburg Cemetery there to await the resurrection.
