Hatter, 2002, Casey Co. >From the Danville Advocate Messenger, 25 July 2002 LIBERTY -- Services for Melvin C. Hatter, 83, of Ky. 501 South will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Willow Springs United Methodist Church by the Revs. Larry Cochran, David Bolin and Odis Clark. Burial will be in Willow Springs Cemetery. He died Wednesday at his home. Born July 21, 1919, in Gilpin, he was the son of the late Melvin C. and Ruby Gilpin Hatter. He was a retired employee of American Greetings Co. and a member of Willow Springs United Methodist Church where he was a former superintendent, song leader and Sunday school teacher. He also was a member of Middleburg Masonic Lodge 594 F&AM and was a Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife, Rose Wesley Hatter; three daughters, Mildred Hatter and Bertha Vest, both of Liberty, and Judy Zachary of Danville; three sisters, Melenee Roberts of Somerset and Josephine Henderson and Vell Snyder, both of Ohio; a brother, Vernon W. Hatter of Ohio; 11 grand- children; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Jeff and Gary Vest, Kyle Zachary, Tim and Dwight Hatter, and Joshua Weddle. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday at Bartle Funeral Home and after 8 am. Saturday at the church. Memorials may go to Willow Springs United Methodist Church, c/o Norma Vest, 1818 Dry Ridge Road, Liberty 42539.
