He was born April 13, 1927 to the late Carl & Leora Gose Havens in Morgan County, KY. He was a retired farmer. Ed was married to the Marie Ferguson on June 3, 1950. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death also by his second wife, Anna Clay Cottle Havens, one son, Mike Havens, a son-in-law, Paul Davis, three brothers, Ralph, Ray, and James Havens, two sisters, Nancy Ross and Jean Stacy. Ed & Marie have six surviving children, Ruth Davis of Nippa, Gary Havens and wife Loretta of Ezel, Billy Havens and wife Glois, Donna Cantrell and husband Jack, Steve Havens and wife Barbara, Kim Nickell and husband Danny all of West Liberty, and a daughter-in-law Cathy Havens of Lowmansville, KY. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, three step grandchildren, five great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren, two brothers, Rex Havens (Katherine) of Georgetown, Ky and Darrell Havens of West Liberty, one sister, Faye Field (Roy) of Lexington, KY and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins and a very special friend, Berchlene Burton of West Liberty. Ed gave his life to the Lord before he died. He enjoyed life and made friends every where he went. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. Although it is so sad for us to let him go, we take comfort in knowing that he is in heaven and waiting for us to come join him. So rest on in peace until we see you again. Funeral service, 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 24, 2006, at the Potter Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Mike Frisby, Rev. Rick Pelfrey, and Rev. James Allen officiating. Burial in the Ferguson Cemetery, West Liberty, KY. Visitation 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 23, 2006 at the Potter Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Brian Johnson, Nick Havens, David Havens, Jason Havens, Matthew Havens, Zackery Gullett, Dustin Havens, Casey Jones, Robbie Stambaugh, Dave Wilder, Talbot Nickell, and Josh James.
