HENDERSHOT October 1960 Breckinridge County KyArchives Obituaries Breckinridge County Herald News, Friday, October 7, 1960 Obituary -from the "Tell City (Indiana) Newspaper"- EDWIN HENDERSHOT, 32, DEAD ON ARRIVAL AT PERRY COUNTY HOSPITAL Edwin L HENDERSHOT, age 32, a radio operator for the Tell City Police and Fire Departments, died about 7:00 p.m. Tuesday of an apparent heart attack while enroute to Perry County Memorial Hospital. HENDERSHOT and his son, Larry Edwin HENDERSHOT, had taken two dogs in a pickup truck to an area about 4 miles west of Cannelton (Perry County), Indiana to let the dogs run. He suffered the attack as he was attempting to turn the truck around on a gravel road, and the truck ran into a ditch. Hearing dogs barking in the area, young HENDERSHOT went to a farm owned by Hugo RECKELHOFF, of Tell City to seek aide. RECKELHOFF and Walter "Woody" SANDAGE, also of Tell City, had gone to the farm earlier in the evening to run their dogs. When the youth told them what happened, they immediately went to give assistance to his father. When they arrived at the scene, HENDERSHOT was sitting on the ground beside the truck. He told them to let him rest a few minutes, and later told them to take him to the hospital. They then put him SANDAGE'S car and RECKELHOFF stayed at the scene to make an attempt to get the truck out of the ditch. HENDERSHOT died before arrival at the hospital. Surviving him are: his wife, Mrs. Nora A. (nee= HARPER) HENDERSHOT, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. HARPER of Irvington (Breckinridge County), Ky. his daughter: Deborah Sue his son Larry Edwin and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward G. HENDERSHOT, all of Tell City (Perry County, Indiana two sisters: Mrs. Thomas WALKER, Cannelton, Indiana Miss Ruth Ann HENDERSHOT, Tell City, Indiana his grandfather, Ezekial P.
