While yet a small boy, being an orphan, he emigrated to this country, and located in Trenton, New Jersey. At the age of 16 years, he came to Kentucky, where he lived until his death. By trade, he was a blacksmith. He also owned a fine farm near Raymond, and was a progressive up- to-date farmer and business man. He married in 1862 to Miss Zeralda PENDELTON. To this union was born eight children, who together with the widow survive to mourn his loss. He was a kind and affectionate husband and father, and a true and faithful friend, and in his death, the county suffers the loss of one of its best and most valued citizens.
