And Fanny Hill July 4, 1879 Hardin County KyArchives News Liberty Tribune, Clay County, Missouri July 4, 1879 The Elizabethtown, Ky., News contains a biographical sketch of two very old people, Mr. John N. Hill and Fanny Hill, his wife. Mr. Hill was born in Pennsylvania, May 28, 1788, about eleven months before Gen. Washington was inaugurated President the first time. Mrs. Hill, whose maiden name was Nall, was born in Kentucky, June 30, 1787, being about eleven months older than her husband. They were married on the 7th day of September, 1813, and if they live until that day next September, they will have been married sixty-six years. She was then and had been for two years a member of the Baptist Church. About fourteen years after their marriage, Mr. Hill made a profession of religion and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, which was then in its infancy. Although not members of the same church, they have enjoyed their Christian faith without any of those troubles and annoyances that sometimes embarrass a husband and wife belonging to different churches. Mrs. Hill is one of three at the same birth. The two others were boys, one of whom died at the age of forty-five and the other at sixty-five. Referring to this aged couple the News says that "the human race does not furnish any better people - none of more consistent christian firmness." Submitted by: Ronald J.
