From: KyArchives Sent: Wednesday, March 19, 2014 11:00 PM To: Ky-Footsteps Subject: Holland.John-Hubbard.William.1835.Garrard.DEED John Holland - William Hubbard October 31, 1835 Garrard County KyArchives Deed Written: October 31, 1835 Recorded: October 31, 1835 Garrard County, Kentucky Deed Book L, pages 472-473 No. 565 William Hubbard & wife to John Holland This Indenture made this 31st day of Oct in the year of our lord 1835 between William Hubbard and Henrietta his wife of the county of Owen and State of Indiana of the one part, and John Holland of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said Will Hubbard and Henrietta his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Six Hundred and seventy dollars to them in hand paid by the said Holland, the receipt whereof is hereby ackn'd, have this day, granted bargained and sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien and convey to the sd. Jno. Holland and his heirs and assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Garrard on the waters of Pt. Lick creek containing sixty two and one fourth acres and bounded as follows: Beginning at a stake in the middle of the big road thence S18E 158 poles to a red bud on the hill side, thence N19 W 90 po. to an Elm and Hickory in a hollow thence up the same N75W 40 po. to the head of a hollow, thence N44W 59¾ po. to a stake, thence W 10 po. to the middle of the big road, thence with said road S20E 36 poles S7W 29 po. S80W 41 po. S5W 38 po. to the Beginning, makeing 62¼ acres. To have and to hold the afsd. bargained and sold land and premises, together with all and singular the appurtanances thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining to him the said John Holland his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Will Hubbard and Henrietta his wife do further covenant and agree to and with the said John Holland, that they the parties of the first part will warrent and defend the afsd. land and premises from the claim of themselves, their heirs and assigns and all and evry other person or persons claiming the same unto the said John Holland his heirs and assigns forever. In testimony whereof the said William Hubbard and wife have hereunto set their hands and seales the day and year first above written. I certify that the foregoing deed of conveyance from William Hubbard and Henrietta his wife to John Holland was produced to me on the 31st day of Oct 1835 and ackn'd by the said William Hubbard to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned, and Henrietta his wife being by me examined privaly and apart from her husband declared that she did freely and willingly sign seal and deliver sd. writing and ackn'd the same again shown and explained to be her act and deed and wished not to retract it & consented that the same might be recorded, and the same is truly recorded.
