Teeter - Joseph Hubbard October 15, 1833 Garrard County KyArchives Deed Written: October 15, 1833 Recorded: October 15, 1833 Garrard County, Kentucky Deed Book L, page 186 This Indenture made and entered into this 15th of October in the Year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and thirty three between Joseph Hubbard and Elizabeth Hubbard his wife of Garrard County and State of Kentucky of the one part and Clabourne C. Teeter of the County and State afsd. of the other part Witnesseth that the said Joseph and Elizabeth Hubbard for and in consideration of the sum of sixty six Dollars current money of the State of Kentucky to them in hand paid by the said C. C. Teeter the receipt whereof they the said Joseph and Elizabeth Hubbard doth hereby acknowledge themselves therewith content hath granted bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain ad sell unto the said C. C. Teeter his heirs or assigns forever, one certain tract or parcel of land containing by Survey twenty two acres, be the same more or less lying and being in Garrard County on the waters of Paint Lick Creek, Bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at a hickory tree near the road leading from the mouth of Paint Lick creek to Lancaster thence S70E 40 poles to a mulberry tree, thence S5W 79 poles to an ash tree near a large poplar thence N23E 50 poles to an Elm and ash trees thence N70E 88 poles to a horn beam on the bank of Paint Lick creek thence N20W 25 poles to an ash and Sugar trees thence W 40 poles to three Lyns thence to the beginning to have and to hold the same tract or parcel of land with its appurtanances to the said Teeter his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Joseph and Elizabeth Hubbard his wife for themselves, their heirs Exors Adr. do warrant and forever defend the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtanaces to the said C. C. Teeter his heirs and assigns agt. the claims of ourselves our heirs or assigns and all others claiming by or through them. Letcher Clerk of the County Court in and for the County afsd. certify that the foregoing deed of conveyance from Joseph Hubbard & Elizabeth his wife was produced to me in my office on the 15th day of October 1833 and ackn'd by the said Joseph Hubbard and wife to be their act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned, and the said Elizabeth his wife being by me examined privaly and apart from her said husband declared that she did freely and willingly sign seal and deliver said writing and acknowledged the said writing again shown and explained to be her act & deed, and consenteth that the same may be recorded, and wishes not to retract it, [the words "and consenteth that" are crossed out] & the same is truly admitted to record.
