Unknown Glasgow KY newspaper.
"Mrs. J. L. HUGHES DEAD. Mrs. James L. Hughes died at her home in Dinuba, 
California, last Sunday morning at six o'clock, following an attack of 
influenza combined with an operation she underwent Thanksgiving Day.

"She is survived by her husband, Dr. J. L. Hughes and four children. Her 
father, Mr. R. L. Paul and four sisters, Misses Lynda, Francis, Ruth and 
Elizabeth Paull, and one brother, Mr. Robt. Paul, also survive her.

"She was in her thirty-first year.

"Dr. and Mrs. Hughes left here several years ago to reside in California where 
her husband was engaged in business. She was a very beautiful and talented 
woman, and had many friends back in her old hometown who will learn of her 
death with regret.

"Burial was at Dinuba."
