Hunt.J.B.1896.Barren-Simpson.OBIT J.B. Hunt September 27 1896 Barren-Simpson County KyArchives Obituaries Glasgow (KY) Weekly Times, 21 Oct 1896. "Many of your readers will be pained to learn of the death of Bro. J. B. Hunt, which occurred at his home in Simpson county on the 27th, ult., after a confinement of five days of intense suffering, which he bore with that Christian fortitude for which he was distinguished throughout his long, eventful life. Bro. Hunt was formerly a citizen of the Mt. Tabor neighborhood, and for many years was the efficient Clerk of the venerable body of Christians that worship there. He was greatly loved by its membership and the entire community, and he and his good wife upheld in an eminent degree that generous hospitality which makes one feel free and easy when under their roof. He was a good citizen, a high-toned and fine Christian gentleman, and worthy of the confidence and esteem of all who knew him. In the death of Bro. Hunt, the church has lost a good member, the Masonic fraternity a good brother, and the country a good citizen. I expect a more extended notice of Bro. Hunt will be furnished THE TIMES soon."
