The news of his decease shocked the entire community as he was evsery where regarded as one of the stoutest, most athletic men in the county. His death was caused by heart-trouble, and came almost without premonition. Bill Jackman, as he was familiarly known among his acquaintenances, was one of the truest, most courageous of men. For a friend he would unhesitatingly risk his life: with his enemies he was open as the day. He was a hard-working, clevere man, and will be most sincerely regretted by those who knew him best. "The remains were interred in the Basham graveyard, in the Glasgow Junction country, yesterday."
