Jackson and Bessie Bingham Jackson in Bell County, Kentucky. Imagene died at her residence, Wednesday March 20, 2002 after a short illness. She was owner and operator of Bessie B. Jackson Grocery at Flat Lick for the past twelve years. Imagene believed in the Baptist faith. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Norma Lee Jackson. Surviving Imagene, her children, Dinah Kay Jarvis and husband Kenneth; and Darrell Emery Dezarn and wife, Michelle, all of Flat Lick; her four loving grandchildren, Makayla Jean Neal, Bethany Renee Dezarn, Kendra Lynn Jarvis and Kodie Jaxon Dezarn; her sisters, Lois Taylor and husband Garrett of Pineville. Shirley Mae Slusher and husband, Buford of Cynthiana, Kentucky; her brothers; Wolford Jackson and wife, Nadine of Michigan; Edward (Vernon) Jackson and wife, Shirley of Flat Lick; Clyde Jackson and wife, Wilma of Michigan, Joe Otis Jackson and wife Seretta of Flat Lick; and Johnny Jackson, Jr. and wife Carol of Louisville, Kentucky. She also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Funeral services for Imagene Jackson were conducted in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, March 23 with Rev. W.B. Bingham officiating. Interment was in the Barbourville Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Mike Jones, Wayne Harkins, James (Bobby) West, Ricky West, Jason Gray, Thomas Catoe, Frank Given, Joe Couch, Larry Jones and Todd Mace. Honorary pallbearers will be: Dr. Talmadge, V. Hays and office staff, Pineville, Kentucky. Dr. Eugene Tichens and Commonwealth Hematology and Commonwealth Hematology and Oncology Staff, Corbin, Kentucky; Dr. Walid A. Abou-Jaoude and staff of Lexington Surgeons Division Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington, Kentucky. Hopper Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
