                          RONNIE JAMES

PIKEVILLE- Ronnie James Sr., 26, of Detroit, and formerly of McVeigh, Ky.,
drowned while swimming Saturday in a private lake near Mayfield KY., a 
funeral home attendant said.
     James, a machinist, was born in Kentucky. He was a son of Wilson James
of McVeigh and Mrs. Emma Thacker James of Chicago, ILL.
     Other survivors include a son, Ronnie James, Jr. of Detroit, three
brothers, Franklin and Estil, both of Mayfield, and Roger of Chicago; a 
sister, Wilma Joyce James of Chicago.
     Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday from the Justice
Funeral Home Chapel. Bill Ford and G.F. Stump will officiate. Burial will 
follow in the Thacker Cemetery under the direction of the Justice Funeral 
Home of Pikeville.
