James.Wilson.1977.Pike.OBIT WILSON JAMES Wilson James, 66, of McVeigh, died Oct. 7 of an apparent heart attack. He was born Dec. 22, 1912 in Pike County to the late Estil and Mary Fields James. He was a retired miner and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include wife Emma (Thacker) James; daughter Wilma Joyce Schmitt of Chicago, ILL; sons Roger Lee James of Chicago, ILL., Estil James of Williamson W.VA., and Franklin D. James of Murray; brothers Victor and Frank James of McVeigh; sisters Sofie Elkins and Corona James of Turkey Creek, Hollie Morris of Columbus, Ohio, and Deset Slone and Dollie Justice, both of Rt. 1, Pikeville. Funeral services were conducted Oct. 10 in the Rogers Funeral home Chapel in Belfry with Billy Ray Norman officiating. Burial followed in the family cemetery on Red Creek.
