A member of Binghamtown Baptist Church, he was retired from the Kentucky State Police and retired from Sigmon Enterprises. He was also a member of the Red Men. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Conley HILL, Cecil HILL and Lonnie STEADMAN. Survivors include his mother, Verdie Ruth HILL, Richmond, Ky.; wife Margaret JARVIS, Arthur, Tenn.; one son, Ronald JARVIS, Miracle, Ky.; one daughter, Carolyn Sue PRATER, Vanceburg, Ky.; one brother, Finley HILL, Monroe, Mich.; two sisters, Edna MYERS, Celina, Ohio and Ruby BARLOW, Richmond, Va.; four grandchildren, Jana S. BASS, Arthur, Tenn., Paula Marie HINTON, Vanceburg, Ky., Dennis PRATER, Vanceburg, Ky., and David THACKER, Harlan, Ky.; one great-grandson Patrick HINTON, Vanceburg, Ky. Services were Monday, July 10, 1989 at 2 p.m. at the Binghamtown Baptist Church in Middlesboro, Ky., with Revs. William Boyd BINGHAM and W. B. BINGHAM. Music was by Dickie SILER and Cindy COOKE. Pallbearers were retired members of the Kentucky State Police. Honorary pallbearers were James SIGMON, Charles SIGMON, Lonnie McKINNEY, Elmer WILLIAMS, Charlie HAWKS, Claude HOBBS, Keith ROGERS and the Kentucky State Police. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro. Creech Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
