Hoping these lines will find you & all your friends enjoying the same blessing. Dear Sir I will now proceed to make known unto you my request in a few words as may be convenient. Sir It is a matter of _______ importance, than a request of you in whom I confide that you be so kind as to express to me, by the favour of Mr. Francis Johnson, with tack & defend your views of that Country in which you live, they, in every respect that should be necessary for a family to know before they could finally conclude to leave their native country. It is from an excitement of the advantages of your country to that of ours that I make this request of you. For this reason & no other, I make it a request of you because I think by the aid of your friends who have a longer experience of that country than you, that you may be able to give me an insuring account of it. Dear Sir, if you would quantify your friend please, give me a description fully of the two or three counties about where you live, of the advantages & disadvantages, thereof. Please flatter me with nothing more than plain words with true meaning. I in the first place ask you for the health of your country. The situation thereof, the quality of rail, the convenience of both timber & water, the production of your first season & common rate land in quantity & if it is hard to produce in variety, the vegetables of Va. Please let me know the ___________ price of stock naming them distinctly in a way much favourable for sale in your country. Tell me your advantages of trade & whether you have ade____ commonly for your stock & produce so that you can get it off at a favourable price.
