George Johnson 
George F, .Johnson, a longtime. resident of Route 3, Garrison, died at 2:30 p. 
m. Tuesday at his home. He was 84 and  leaves 236 living descendants. 
Mr. Johnson was a retired Saw mill Operator and farmer. He was born April 28, 
1889 in the Weeksberry community of  Floyd  County and was a son of the late 
Daniel R and Sally Johnson, his wife the former Dolly Tackett. and 12 children 
who are John M. Johnson of  Garrison ,Frank Johnson of Detroit, Mrs  Rose 
Bryant and  Mrs Doroty Hall, both of Weeksberry,  Mrs,  Molly Cooper, Mrs 
Laura Hall and  Carrie Tackett. all Garrison  Mrs, Oma Hall· and Mrs. Effie 
Tackett, both of :Melvin, Ky., Mrs. Lettie  McCoy of  Pikeville, .Mrs Irene 
Corns of  Vanceburg and Mrs Josie Hall of Albion, Mich.. 
He also leaves 92 grandchildren, 142 great-grandchildren, four great-great- 
grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs Ellen Johnson and Lucy Johnson both in 
Wales, KY. 
Funeral rites were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Dickerson Funeral Home in 
Vanceburg. Burial was in the Willis Cooper Cemetery.
