Leach & wife to Jones - Bath Co Bath Co., KY Deed Book D Page 400-401 Leach & wife To } Deed Jones This Indenture made and entered into this second day of January 1823 between John Leach of Bath County Kentucky of the one part & William Jones of the same place of the other part Witnesseth that the said Leach for and in consideration of one hundred dollars in money & one hundred dollars in horse flesh. doth by virtue of these presents grant bargain and Sell unto the said William Jones a tract of land lying and being in the said County of Bath aforesaid on Slate Creek beginning at a honey locust & elm Trees in the north line of Leach tract & run thence S.55*W.21 poles to a Stake thence S65 W.70 poles to a buckeye and two ash trees thence South 38 poles to 3 white Oaks corner to John Cassity thence S.23 E.81 ½ poles to a poplar ash and Sugartrees corner to Jas McLain thence N.29 E.120 poles to two ashes coffeenut and Sugartree thence N 20 W.54 poles to the Beginning Containing fifty one acres & 22 poles to have and to hold the same to the Said Leach Warrants and defends the same to him the said Jones his heirs &c from and against Said Leach and his heirs & also against the claim of one William Davis but from nor against the claim of no ther person whatsoever & in case the said tract is taken by the claim of said Davis then Leach is to refund the consideration money & property aforesaid Interest thereon & so in proportion for a part thereof if the whole be not taken In consideration whereof I have herunto set my hand & Seal this day & year aforesaid Witness John Leach Seal Henry Chiles Jr her Mary x Leach Seal mark Bath County Sct I William M.
