I Thomas Jones of the County of Montgomery and state of Kentucky being old and infirm but of sound and perfect mind and memory, thanks be to the almighty God for the same, Calling to mind the mortality of my body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament, that is to say, principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul unto the hands of the almighty God that gave it, and as touching such worldly goods, and Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give and bequeth to my children hereafter mentioned, after reserving twenty acres of land on the west end of the tract whereon I live for Joseph Thompson, that is to say Joseph Jones Thomas Jones Elizabeth [--]use John Jones Francis Jones Nancy Thompson Polly Thompson and Benjamin Jones, all the ballance of the said tract as above named to be equally divided among them as they shall think propper. I also give and bequeth to my youngest son Benjamin Jones one bed and furniture one rifle gun. I further give and bequeth to my son James's children three hundred dollars to be divided equally amongst them all when they come of age. I als give and bequeth to my grandchildren heirs of Rachel McLane three hundred dollars to be paid to them by my executors when they become of age one dollar to my son-in-law John McClain. I also give and bequeth to my son in law James Foster one dollar. I also give and bequeth to John Foster Polly Foster Katy Foster Sally Foster Thomas Foster & James Foster my grandchildren one Dollar a piece to be paid by my executors when they become of age they being heirs of my daughter Jane Foster. I also give and bequeth to Joseph Thompson my son in law the twenty acres of land before reserved it being the place whereon he now lives on the west end of my tract. I also farther give and bequeth to all my children hereafter named all the remainder of my property to be equally divided amongst them (that is to say) Joseph Jones Thomas Jones Elizabeth Shouse John Jones Francis Jones Nancy Thompson Polly Thompson and Benjamin Jones, and be it further remembered that my son Joseph Jones has received Eighty eight Dollars which is part of his legacy. Also my son in law Joseph Thompson has received seventy eight Dollars as part of his legacy I hereby appoint sole executors of this my last will and testament, Joseph Jones Thomas Jones John Jones Francis Jones and Benjamin Jones revoking and [disavowing?] all former wills by me made. Jones, Benjamin Jones, & Joseph Jones the Executors named in said will made oath according to law & gave bond in the penalty of Eight thousand dollars with Enoch Smith & John Young their securities conditioned according to law.
