Will Book C, Pp. 416/417 Written: January 9, 1816 Recorded: January 15, 1816 In the name of God amen I John [Jupin] Dupin of the County of Nelson and State of Kentucky being [in] weak in body but of sound and deaposeable mind thanks be to God for his mercies but calling to mind that all born must onst dye and the time of death so vastly uncertain lead me to make this my last will and testament and first ~ I [Give] commit my soul to almighty God who gave it and my body to the dust from whence it came and to be deseantly buryed and after burial and funaril expenses Paid and all my just debts Settled - what worldly goods god has blessed me with I give & bequeath in the following manner to wit ~ 2nd I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Meedcalf one dollar ~ besides the articles she has already Red of me and no more of my estate 3rd I give unto the heirs of my daughter Sarah Desmore Dct. one dollar besides what she has already red of me & no more of my estate 4th I Give unto my son James Dupin one dollar besides what he has already got of me and no more of my estate 5th I Give unto my daughter Catharine McAdams one dollar besides what she has already red of me and no more of my estate 6 I give to my daughter Sophia Dunnahew one dollar besides what she has already red by me and no more of my estate 7 I give unto my son Lewis Dupin the plantation whereon I now live together with two Negroes one Woman named Margret and one man named Joseph 8 It is further my will and wish that the residue of my estate both real and personal of whatsoever kind and where ever found shall be sold in the usual way by my executor heareafter to be named and the money ariseing from the sale of said Goods and all the money collected from out standing debts and also all money on hand or in any way otherwise red I leave to be equally divided amongst such part of my children as shall be hereafter named One Sixth part of said money to Clemency Wright one sixth part to Mary Lemasters one sixth part to Freeborn [J]Dupin one sixth part to the heirs of John [J]Dupin one sixth part to [the] Elener Richey one sixth ~ part to the heirs of John Dupin and one sixth part to the heirs of Kezia Richey being my children and Grand children all of which I want to have an equal share according to the above stipolation and lastly I [ ? ] leave my son Lewis Dupin sole and intire executor of this my last will and testament heare by revoking all former wills heretofore made or wheresoever found In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9 day of January 1816. Read subscribing witnesses thereto is ordered to be recorded. On the motion of Lewis Jupin the executor named in the last will and testament of John Jupin decd he having given bond with Philip Read and Samuel T.
